Our client is an independent studio that designs, develops and publishes Smartphone and Tablet games.

The Senior Gameplay Programmer will have a keen understanding of game mechanics, how to implement and an eye for quality when implementing them. In order to do their work, it is expected that they will show initiative and support the Lead Programmer, by both clarifying requirements and contributing to discussions in sprint planning.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Take ownership and acting as the point of contact for tasks assigned to them
Demonstrate initiative and implement features as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
Deliver features to the level of quality expected of a world class game developer
Assist in defining tasks in sprint planning
Assist the Lead Programmer in writing technical design documents
Participate in code reviews
Promote good programming practices
Take ownership of existing modules, extending and refactoring them.

SKILLS:
Proficient in C# with good understanding of object oriented development
Broad knowledge of Unity3D
Good debugger and problem solver
Knowledge of common algorithms, design patterns and structures
Aware and capable of respecting the constraints of developing for mobile devices
Can breakdown and estimate tasks accurately
Familiarity with source control, preferably Perforce

EXPERIENCE:
Minimum of 3 years’ experience with Unity3D and gameplay programming
Worked as an engineer with Unity3D in at least one shipped product
Good working knowledge of 3D maths and physics
Shipped at least one iOS and/or Android title, ideally both
Worked in an Agile environment

PLUS:
Experience with Unity UI and other Unity3D plugins
Practical knowledge of a network API, ideally Unity or Photon
Hands-on experience writing shaders
Experience of Android java and/or iOS objective-c development
Worked on multi-platform products
Completed at least one F2P Mobile product
Experience of working on a released mobile F2P game in LiveOps
