UI / Usability Programmer

Our client is a graphics technology company, specialising in innovative solutions to challenging problems in the graphics space. They currently need a UI/ Usability programmer to join their team for a new project.

Role:

The Usability programmer has the primary focus of providing the end user with a functional and coherent experience. This includes all interfaces with the customer from the 2D UI elements of standard lists and grids through to the necessarily complex search and filtering structures. The position will require prototyping and rapid iteration of design concepts, and a solid interaction model to retain a consistent interface to a complex pattern of data.

Responsibilities

•Rapid prototyping of User Interface options
•Design and architecture of the UI event model
•Implementation and testing of multiple dialogs and layouts
•Set high standards for robust, maintainable and well tested code
•Design, implement and test clean, modular code
•Assist Lead Programmer in scheduling
•Deliver product to predictable schedule and to high quality
•Communicate capabilities, concepts and restrictions to Lead Programmer

Skills / Abilities / Knowledge

•Strong analysis and design skills
•Ability to estimate and track requirements
•Strong verbal and written communication skills
•Define and communicate clear user stories / feature definitions to team
•Excellent understanding of usability and related issues
•Experienced in developing in C#
•Knowledge of XML useful
•IT / network knowledge useful

Experience / Education

•Degree level education in a technical subject (Maths, Physics, Computer Science)
•4+ years experience as a programmer in a UI-heavy application
•Successful delivery of at least one complete project
