A talented and experienced lead artist is required at Australia’s largest games developer. This role is ideal for an individual who is enthusiastic about creating games.

Responsibilities:

•Ensure that all art is consistent with defined visual style for the game

•Create and maintain style guide, communicate clearly to all artists on team

•Define pipeline for art throughout project

•Manage art sent to publisher, and ensure quality meets the company’s high standards

•Handles technical aspects of the art team: art processes, tools, budgets, texture budgets, task definitions & all pipeline issues

•Maintain a full understanding of the project requirements, and continually work with the Producer to ensure completion within schedule/milestones

•Manage a team of Artists, and art department work allocation

•Utilise tools to ensure art assets are fully optimized for target platforms while minimising any impact on artistic integrity of assets

•Perform additional tasks as requested

•Ensure that personal work is meeting all standards (checking work, check-in procedures, build checklists etc)


Requirements:

Skills & Knowledge:

•Ability to lead and motivate a team

•A strong understanding of the game production process

•Excellent written and oral English communication skills

•Ability to take direction

•Initiative

•Excellent 3D modeling

•Expert knowledge of Adobe Photoshop

•Excellent understanding of efficient techniques for game production, on both high and low resolution pipelines

•Technically savvy with strong problem solving skills

•Good natural artistic ability and flair

•Mature professional attitude and work ethic

•Attention to detail is essential and all tasks must be carried out to the highest standard possible

Experience & Qualifications:

•Minimum 5 years games experience in a senior or sub-lead position

•Degree in a design discipline or demonstrated equivalent
