We are looking for an ambitious individual with a proven track record in creating and maintaining animation tools and DCC plugins. As a member of our Technical Animation Team you will assume responsibility for the creation and maintenance of our animation pipeline tools, with an emphasis on the ease of use for animators, while maintaining compatibility and reusability in our existing workflows. You will collaborate with engineers and animators to help meet workflow, in-game, and technical requirements, and work closely with our riggers, skinners and programmers.
What you will do:
You will define workflows and pipelines in consultation with your colleagues, and develop and improve in-house tools as needed, remaining aware of the impact of your decisions on other disciplines.
You will properly estimate time to complete work and manage competing priorities.
You will help ensure that art and animation quality is not compromised by limitations of technical processes.
You will develop a deep understanding of the technical animation goals and guidelines, and use these goals as guidance for decision making.
You will build collaborative relationships and resolve conflicts in a constructive manner.
You will research and develop new techniques, approaches and solutions as required.
You will work closely with the Animation, Engineering and outsource staff to turn their animations into runtime assets.
Who you are:
You have excellent Maya and/or MotionBuilder skills.
You are proficient with scripting languages Python (first), Maya Python API, (second) and C++.
You have a strong grasp of design patterns.
You have over five years of professional experience, with more than one AAA title shipped or an equivalent amount of experience from a related industry.
You have experience working with game engines and game systems.
You possess strong communications skills and a clear grasp of English.
You’re excellent at working independently and collaboratively
You work well with others and are proactive at problem solving.
You enjoy expanding your knowledge and sharing what you know, always remaining at the forefront of new techniques, research and technology.
You have prior experience with animation and motion capture.
You have prior experience with Maya and MotionBuilder rigging.
You have an understanding of real time engine pipelines.
