
Our client is an interactive entertainment development company based in Germany, who is dedicated to the creation of high-quality video games for PC and next generation consoles. Currently, they are in need of a Sr. Technical Game Designer to join their studio to assist in producing innovative and exciting games
Responsibilities:
•Assist the development team with tasks such as game tuning, game design and play test feedback.
•Tweaking of weapons and vehicles and other primary core gameplay elements.
•Execute game and level design production assignments according to the Game Design Document as directed by Lead Designer and/or Creative Director in a timely fashion using the inhouse Game Design Tools.
•Documentation including keeping design documents and internal communication tools up-to-date.
•Feature design and gameplay implementation including working with other departments to implement said features.
•Participate in extensive MP and SP testing.
•Assist in design documentation and in-game dialogue writing.
•Work with lead designers on level design and game play ideas.
•Writing test plans for the QA department.
•Keep managers apprised of any issues which impede the ability to maintain the rate of level and game production to that outlined in the current project schedule.
•Ensure levels are optimized for network play
Requirements:
•Experience and working knowledge of design tools and techniques.
•Excellent organizational, communication, presentation and interpersonal skills.
•Production knowledge of First Person Shooter games.
•Must have worked as a Senior Designer/Designer on two shipped Projects, and/or Lead Designer on one shipped project.
Preferences:
•Two or more shipped game credits in a technical or senior design role, preferably top tier titles.
•Vast experience with 3D technologies (game engines) and tools, scripting languages, AI implementation, and scenario design.
•The ability to articulate a clear focused-vision to a designer, artist, programmer, tester, producer, and most of all, to the publisher.
•The ability to lead a team behind a feature task, giving guidance towards a focused goal.
•The ability to describe complex systems in a clear, concise, and easily understood manner.
•A true passion for games, both on PC and Console, with a clear up-to-date concept of market / consumer trends.
•The ability to challenge assumptions and bring about innovative solutions while working in an team environment.
•Dedicated to the project and team; a true team member.
•An eye for clever design solutions, level optimization, and improving workflows.
