BUILD ENGINEER

Our client is currently seeking a Build Engineer to work on our client’s latest cutting-edge MMORPG title.

Responsibilities

•Part of the team that coordinates our software development environment operating across multiple branches via a source control management (SCM) tool.
•Identification of build distributions required within the team and externally.
•Coordination of asset integration between content creation and engineering branches.
•Development of tools to automate the content integration pipeline.
•Creation of distributable build images (including installers), and the development of tools and processes to enable this.
•Rollout of tools to content creators.
•Technical documentation for builds.
•Liaising between the QA and development teams.
•Technical Build compliance.
•Security, tracking and archiving of builds.

Qualifications and Experience Required

•Good BSc or equivalent in a relevant subject.
•Previous experience in a SCM / Software Mastering role or Previous experience in any general game engineering role with at least 1 shipped title.

Knowledge/Skills Required

•Good knowledge of C++.
•Knowledge of at least one SCM tool deployed in a team environment.
•Strong analytical skills, with the ability to take a release or configuration management problem and provide options and solutions.
•Strong organisational and communication skills.
•Ability to define and document software engineering processes.
•Ability to operate effectively and to a high level of quality under pressure.
•Attention to detail.

Knowledge / Skills in the following areas a plus

•Experience of defining SCM processed for a company or a team. Good knowledge of C++.
•Familiarity with UnrealEngine3(tm).
•Knowledge of Perforce SCM.
•Use of defect tracking in a professional environment.
•Experience of working on an MMO title.
•Good knowledge of the game development cycle (specifically milestone / submission stages of a project)
•Ability to debug problems in a large project with or without detailed knowledge of the code-base.
